Ed Blank

Born and raised on a fly fishing only river in northern New Hampshire, all I ever knew was skiing and fly fishing. I was very lucky and the skiing took me around the world into my thirties racing professionally for 12 years. In 1990 I stepped away from skiing altogether and rekindled my love for fishing by way of Alaska. I started Ed Blank’s Adventures which outfitted and guided fly fishermen on week long rafting adventures in Alaska. For 20 years I organized and guided our float trips, in southwest Alaska. Fly Fishing Heaven.com is my travel business that has grown from my off season travels with my Alaska clientele throughout the world. In the Spring of 2008 I started working as an independent tarpon guide in the Florida Keys. In 2010 I retired the Alaska portion of my business and began working with Lori-Ann Murphy as the fishing director at El Pescador Lodge in Belize. Lets fish together soon!

Fly fishing was the only option when I was a kid - I grew up on a fly fishing only river in Northern New Hampshire. Not much to do there but fish in the summer and ski in the winter so I learned to do both very well. My fishing career began in Alaska outfitting and guiding float trips for 18 years. Looking for something to do in the winter I got together with many of my Alaska clients and we traveled the fishing world, which has now turned into flyfishingheaven.com. Travel advice for like minded fly fisher men and women. I love it! I currently work as a tarpon guide in the Florida Keys and I was lucky enough to have spent years as fishing director and General Manager at El Pescador in Belize.
